Where to start? Well, we have been A'bravo many times. Every time I am leaving after dinner or lunch, I say I will never go back. However, as noted in the last sentence, I have been there many times. I think the reason for this contradiction, is they actually have some dishes on their regular menu that are pretty good. My dinner companion usually gets the marinated mozzarella salad. I have never had it before but she seems to love it. We always get what's called the "trio", which is A'bravos spin on bruschetta. This is crusty bread with large slices of mozzarella cheese, a huge slice of tomato and drizzled with balsamic vinegar and basil. They have other options for toppings but we usually just stick to this. I joke when the salad comes out with its gigantic portion of yet more mozzarella cheese, that by the end of the night, my companion would have consumed an entire ball of cheese. The one item I do like on the regular menu is their smoked turkey pasta salad. The smoked turkey and dried cranberries make for a great combination when mixed with cheese filled tortellini. Ok, so that's what brings us back, now let's talk about what makes me say I won't go back. One word, service! First thing that aggravates me is that you can't transfer your bar tab to your dinner tab. I know that's petty, but come on, this is a small place that doesn't have the volume of one of those bad food factories (I won't mention names), and not being able to do this is just an inconvenience to the customer. I understand all the excuses; bar is managed separately, but figure it out people! Environment; the owner did a great job moving to the new location a handful of years ago, the interior is half industrial, with concrete floors and exposed duct work and trusses on the ceiling, and half casual trendy with some tables tucked away inside of middle eastern tents. This is where it stops. The music does not go along with the vibe at all. I have been there many times and they are playing Casey Kasem's Top 40. On the topic of music, we went there for New Year's Eve dinner because a DJ friend of mine was going to be spinning down tempo house music, finally a refreshing change for this place. When we got there, the house was smooth and cool and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. Then, it changed suddenly, back to the some ordinary airport sounding music. I was waiting to hear my name being called to gate B5 or something. I heard later that the owner didn't like what the DJ was playing and asked him to change it. I guess they didn't know what house music was when they hired him. A few other mistakes; there is a TV above the bar usually playing either sports or the food network. They don't even turn it off when they have live music which is in bad taste to the artist performing. The TV is a distraction to the type of place (I think) they are going for. Loose the TV! Bar and wait staff needs some work too. The bar tenders are usually pretty slow and have a hard time handling large crowds. Not to mention being pretty dry in the personality department. The wait staff is always nice, but forgets the little details. Note to wait staff: If there is an empty glass of wine on the table and still some left in the bottle, please, replenish the glasses. Also, please take my dirty dishes when you come by, don't let them pile up on the end of the table. And lastly, if you break a cork, go get a new bottle and never ask me to cork it for you. Sit down lunch it is, fine dining it is not. They have some work to do. I give it 2 stars.

First off, the cheapest breakfast was about $15 but my reservations stop there. This place is more than a restaurant/bistro it's an experience! I had the biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns. Hands down best biscuits and gravy I've ever eaten. The chefs are absolutely first class and the hashbrowns were unlike any I'd ever had before. The meal was served with sweet rolls and stewed berries with whipped cream which were complimentary and unexpected. Don't be put off by the high end prices, I was exceptionally happy with the dining experience.

For being a restaurant in (basically) a strip mall, i give major points for ambiance and decor. The cream of mushroom soup was incredible, and their raspberry chicken salad was pretty good. In general I was happy with my experience there- the server was friendly, the food was good, etc. But perhaps I'm a snob, because I wanted more....character? I can't quite put a finger on it. If I wind up in Green Bay again, I'd definitely go for lunch again and try more of the menu. But I'm not sure if this would be a spot I'd try dinner.

Their Sunday brunch is the best. We had stuffed french toast and crepes. All the accompaniments were also delicious. I've also heard great things about their dinner. The only downside would be the price, but I guess you're paying for the quality.

Awesome little gem. Great food. Average Wine list - nothing local or unheard of. We had the Cuban and the margarita pizza. Both were fantastic! Great place to stop and have a cocktail and some good food. Fabulous atmosphere

Want to have a leisurely lunch with a friend? This is the perfect place! The food is fantastic with many tempting dishes to choose from. The wait staff is quite knowledgeable and more than willing to help with a suggestion. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere. No one will be hustling you out in order to "turn the table." You will not be disappointed here, scrumptious food, mouth watering selections, pleasant staff and comfortable atmosphere. Did I mention this is a wine bar too? Is this heaven, or what???

Our problems with this place started as soon as we arrived for an early dinner on Tuesday night. There were 5 people in our party and they seemed to have trouble figuring out where to seat us even though the restaurant was relatively empty. Their solution was to stick a chair at the end of a 4 person table. Um, what?? Our server was slow and seemed to lack knowledge about the menu. At one point she blamed the kitchen staff for the inconsistent service. Our food was mediocre. The salads were fine, but the fish was over cooked and dry. The sandwich was over toasted and generally sub par. Our server had problems clearing our empty plates as the meal proceeded. We ended up having to wave down another server to ask for attention. Our drinks were not delivered in a timely manner and didn't seem to contain any alcohol. Then, when we wanted to pay the bill there was no one around to take the check and credit card. We waited a good ten minutes before we had to carry the bill up to the front of the house only to receive attitude from the staff and being dismissed because they were "working on a take out order." I would not recommend this place. For the premium you pay, it isn't worth the trouble with service or the average food quality.

We dined at A'bravo this past week (Wednesday) during Restaurant Week. We were a little surprised at the 20 minute wait on a Wednesday evening but we're very content to wait it out. It would be nice if there was a little more room at the bar, we felt that we were crowding the nearby table. I had the Mushroom Soup to start, which was good, a little rich, but delicious. My entree was the Salmon Skewers - it was a wonderful dish! I'd order it again. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake. It was good but the portion was on be small size compared to the cheesecake my sister had. Our overall experience was good, though our poor server couldn't be overly attentive as he had 9 tables out on the patio alone.

a'Bravo knocked the socks off every one of our wedding guests and months later we still have people complementing our wedding dinner. Initially when choosing a caterer for our wedding, we were very particular as to what we wanted. Julie was very open from the very beginning about prices and what services they could provide. She and her team came through with flying colors and our wedding could not have been a success without their hard work. The service was professional and the food was so good it felt like you were eating in the restaurant and not the typical "weddingy" food. I'm a firm believer in you-pay-for-what-you-get, and a'Bravo was worth every penny. Lastly, Chef Andy is a total rockstar-whatever is plated is a work of art! Thank you Julie and a'Bravo!

Stopped in for lunch and found a low carb "pasta" dish served on spaghetti squash. When I explained my health issues, and asked to sub Alfredo sauce for the tomato based sauce they were happy to do so. It was out of this world! Even the server commented on how she wanted to order it that way now!

I ate at a'Bravo this past Saturday for the fifth time, so I figured I probably ought to write a review. The dining area is attractive but casual; the light fixtures are eye-catching, and there are tables that work well for a first-date or a fun night out with friends. The menu is pretty eclectic, and includes sandwiches, salads, and pastas for those looking for lunch or a light dinner, as well as large plate entrees at a slightly higher cost. The restaurant has a full bar and small but respectable wine-list. I'm not sure if any draft beers are available, but they do offer a diverse selection of bottled beers. My most recent visit was for dinner, and thus I opted for one of their entrees: Seared scallops with a cheese risotto and grilled asparagus. My meal came with a small salad, which was a nice starter, and a bread basket of rolls baked by the local Great Harvest Bread Co. The food and service were both exceptional. I didn't have any dessert, other than coffee, but the offerings looked delicious, and were loved by my dining companions. Before this last dining experience, I'd only been to a'Bravo for lunch, but I'd now say that it's a fine spot for dinner, as well. They also serve brunch on Sunday, so that's just one more reason to check it out.

This is an update to my previous review. I tried A 'Bravo again and this time, the service was fantastic! We were on our way to a movie and stopped to have dinner there. Our spinach and artichoke dip was superb and piping hot! The soup was tasteful and our steaks were cooked to perfection. In and out of there is just over an hour. Thank you for the improvement on service since my first visit!

We were up from Chicago, visiting friends in Green Bay and they suggested this place as one of their favorites - I can see why! Everyone enjoyed their lunch and so did I: a dill and spiced (I think it was cumin?) egg salad sandwich on a toasted baguette with spinach and prosciutto, with a side of mushroom soup. Sounds like a crazy meal but it was outstanding. I wish we lived closer! Our waitress was also great. Cute bistro, too!

My family enjoyed a delightful dinner on Thursday night. We didn't have to wait for a table and we had great service. We ordered the artichoke dip as an appetizer and had lobster mac and cheese, big boo, and a child's buttered noodles for dinner. Today was the 2nd time I have been there for brunch. I will say that today the loud gospel music was somewhat annoying. The food is good and the menu is creative. I'm torn with this because I actually like a lot of what a'Bravo serves. The sandwiches are good, the breakfast offerings are tasty and eclectic, and they are actively TRYING to be something more than your typical Green Bay venture. But something is still not clicking, and after ten years in business, I fear it will never really click for them. First, what is a'Bravo exactly? It says on the sign that it's a Bistro and Wine Bar, except that the wine offerings aren't stellar and in fact, are pretty one note. I get that whoever is buying the wine knows what they like, but some of us like more than merlot and white zins. I realize, though, that this makes me sound extraordinarily snobby, but the overarching attitude of a'Bravo's staff seems to be "We know what you like better than you do". Then there's the decor. I don't know why this bugs me as much as it does, but it's like someone went to World Market and Pier One with an unlimited spending account... twenty years ago. The place could be SO cool with a little restraint. Those acid-washed glossy concrete floors are just amazing! The wall colors are fantastic. But it's the classic Coco Chanel advice of taking off one accessory before you walk out the door. There are just too many assertions that a'Bravo is Quirky with a capital Q. My other big issue with a'Bravo is the service. As mentioned in other reviews, the service is beneath "lackluster" and venturing into "Neglegent" territory. Expect to wait forever for your food while watching the staff demonstrate absolutely zero sense of urgency. Is the kitchen perhaps understaffed? It didn't LOOK like it, but maybe they haven't done enough prep work, or perhaps the diverse menu doesn't allow for a streamlined process. I'd love to see what Gordon Ramsay would do with the place (although one would hope that the level of cleanliness at a'Bravo would far exceed Ramsay's usual rehabs). All in all, a'Bravo is interesting, and I usually take friends there when I know I want a long time to sit before the meal and talk, but if you're even a little hungry or in a hurry, then probably a better idea to go elsewhere.

I don't think we'll be back. We have been here before and had great meals but something has changed. First, we had a reservation and arrived on time, so why did they seat us right next to other occupied tables when the place was pretty empty and they could have put us in a quieter and more private spot? The menu was underwhelming, nothing stood out to any of us in our party of four. We all ended up compromising and choosing something that looked good but, when the food came, the presentations were boring, portions were small for the price and the food didn't have much taste. It actually seemed like they went to Costco and heated up the food from the freezer. Deserts were the same way, just nothing interesting, presentation was plain. Even though we were all hungry for desert, we decided to go someplace else because nothing on their desert tray was appetizing. Service was OK but not personable at all. Waitress seemed busy even though the place was pretty empty on a Saturday night.

I have been here many times over the past couple years and have never had a bad meal. The food is amazing, sophisticated comfort food. The menu had options for all palates. The staff is very hospitable. It's nice to go somewhere the owner really cares. The restaurant is very unique to itself. The atmosphere is very hip and modern and great for young professionals. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone! I love Abravo!

Today was the 2nd time I have been there for brunch. I will say that today the loud gospel music was somewhat annoying. The food is good and the menu is creative. I have had the Blue Cheese scramble which was interesting and good. Today I had the apple french toast which was ok. There could have been more cinnamon for my taste.

I'm torn with this because I actually like a lot of what a'Bravo serves. The sandwiches are good, the breakfast offerings are tasty and eclectic, and they are actively TRYING to be something more than your typical Green Bay venture. But something is still not clicking, and after ten years in business, I fear it will never really click for them. First, what is a'Bravo exactly? It says on the sign that it's a Bistro and Wine Bar, except that the wine offerings aren't stellar and in fact, are pretty one note. I get that whoever is buying the wine knows what they like, but some of us like more than merlot and white zins. I realize, though, that this makes me sound extraordinarily snobby, but the overarching attitude of a'Bravo's staff seems to be "We know what you like better than you do". Then there's the decor. I don't know why this bugs me as much as it does, but it's like someone went to World Market and Pier One with an unlimited spending account... twenty years ago. The place could be SO cool with a little restraint. Those acid-washed glossy concrete floors are just amazing! The wall colors are fantastic. But it's the classic Coco Chanel advice of taking off one accessory before you walk out the door. There are just too many assertions that a'Bravo is Quirky with a capital Q. My other big issue with a'Bravo is the service. As mentioned in other reviews, the service is beneath "lackluster" and venturing into "Neglegent" territory. Expect to wait forever for your food while watching the staff demonstrate absolutely zero sense of urgency. Is the kitchen perhaps understaffed? It didn't LOOK like it, but maybe they haven't done enough prep work, or perhaps the diverse menu doesn't allow for a streamlined process. I'd love to see what Gordon Ramsay would do with the place (although one would hope that the level of cleanliness at a'Bravo would far exceed Ramsay's usual rehabs). All in all, a'Bravo is interesting, and I usually take friends there when I know I want a long time to sit before the meal and talk, but if you're even a little hungry or in a hurry, then probably a better idea to go elsewhere.

I don't think we'll be back. We have been here before and had great meals but something has changed. First, we had a reservation and arrived on time, so why did they seat us right next to other occupied tables when the place was pretty empty and they could have put us in a quieter and more private spot? The menu was underwhelming, nothing stood out to any of us in our party of four. We all ended up compromising and choosing something that looked good but, when the food came, the presentations were boring, portions were small for the price and the food didn't have much taste. It actually seemed like they went to Costco and heated up the food from the freezer. Deserts were the same way, just nothing interesting, presentation was plain. Even though we were all hungry for desert, we decided to go someplace else because nothing on their desert tray was appetizing. Service was OK but not personable at all. Waitress seemed busy even though the place was pretty empty on a Saturday night.

I have been here many times over the past couple years and have never had a bad meal. The food is amazing, sophisticated comfort food. The menu had options for all palates. The staff is very hospitable. It's nice to go somewhere the owner really cares. The restaurant is very unique to itself. The atmosphere is very hip and modern and great for young professionals. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone! I love Abravo!
